6 Simple Steps To Be More Productive

We all need a little inspiration to get  (more) things done from  time to time and now that summer is over it's a great time to get back into the swing of taking massive action toward your goals.

I've got 6 simple strategies you can start implementing TODAY to help 10x your productivity:

1️⃣ Create a quick but powerful morning routine. Think about it-you already have a morning routine but is what you’re currently doing setting you up for ease and maximum productivity throughout the rest of your day?   Incorporate things that will motivate you like podcasts, reading, prayer, meditation, or journaling. Be intentional about it. I LOVE my quiet time in the morning.  I use it to journal, meditate and set intentions for the day.

2️⃣ Automate as much as you can. This helps reduce decision fatigue. Our energy is finite so make sure you are saving yours for things that really matter.  Even something as simple as always having a protein shake for breakfast eliminates the need to try to decide what you’ll eat each day and will even reduce your time spent grocery shopping. What other day to day activities can you automate to create more ease AND time in your day?

3️⃣ Say no to something at least once, every single day.  This will get you more comfortable with saying no.  And remember, when you say no to something, you are also saying YES to something else. Let that something else help you move the needle of productivity! Warren Buffet said “the difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything.”

4️⃣Start measuring how you spend your time based on results.   Instead of scheduling "brainstorming session for new  keynote" schedule "create keynote topic and three talking points"  Stop measuring productivity based on the activity you're working on, and start measuring it based on the results you produce during that time.

5️⃣Move your body every day.  When you exercise, you increase blood flow to the brain which will in turn make you feel sharper and more alert.  Exercise can also lessen feelings of anxiety and depression and it can also increase your energy levels. I love to infuse movement throughout my day.  Even if I get a great workout in, I love drop 5-10 minutes of of yoga, mobility or playing with the dog every hour or so-it really helps to keep the brain cells firing and keeps my attention sharp.

6️⃣Eat to fuel your body. The food you eat has a direct impact on your cognitive performance. Lots of starch and sugar will make you feel sluggish, tired and slow. Eating protein, healthy fats veggies will keep you feeling physically satisfied and mentally sharp. One of the easiest things you can do to jumpstart productivity is to start eating clean and moving your body.

Start incorporating these 6 simple steps right away and feel accomplished and proud at the end of every day!
