You've seen her. That woman that turns heads when she walks into the room. Not because of what she's wearing or how show looks. Instead it's her energy that you're drawn to. The way she carries herself; head held high and a look of comfortable confidence on her face.
People who are confident in themselves know 100% that they have what it takes to succeed and live the life that fuels the fire burning inside them.
Their confidence is not because things have come easily for them, most likely it's because they have put themselves out there, time and time again, fallen down, gotten back up and kept moving forward. All the while, learning from their experiences.
They have experienced their fair share of doubt and insecurities and have learned that spending time indulging in those feelings won't be productive so they choose to think and feel differently.
Here are 7 seemingly little things that many of us may not even realize that we are doing, but they are depleting our confidence and decreasing our ability to believe in and trust in ourselves.
The top 7 Things Confident Women Never Do:
- They don't let fear stop them. They do it scared.
Fear is a normal part of rising. Anytime you are thinking about taking actions that are unfamiliar to you, your brain is going to activate a fear response because it's trying to keep you safe. While it's normal, it's unnecessary. Your safety is not at risk! Acknowledge the fear and keep going.
- They are NOT indecisive.
Procrastination is fear in disguise. Spending time wondering what to do feels like you're being productive but until you actually produce a result, you're just wasting precious time. Decide, and go for it.
- They don't seek the approval of others.
No one is as invested in your dreams and goals as you are. If it excites you, that's all that matters.
- They don't compare themselves to others.
Don't waste your precious time focusing on what someone else is doing. Especially if they are doing something similar to you. There's enough success to go around. I promise.
- They don't give up when they encounter obstacles.
Instead of being surprised and stopped in your tracks, anticipate potential obstacles in advance and prepare for them. Ask yourself this question: "what could get in the way of me meeting this goal?" and then do the necessary research or planning to handle it when, not if, it arises.
-
They don’t see failures as defeats.
As soon as you recognize that there are always bumps in the road on the path to success, "failure" will become much more palatable. The ease with which you can recover allows you to keep moving forward. Expect it to happen and you won't be as shaken when it does. Ask yourself this: "what can I learn from this?"
-
They don’t take things personally.
What someone else thinks about you is none of your business. We all see things through our own particular lens of experience so anyone's opinions of you are never personal. Ever.
